The Let’s All Dance Ballet Company believes everyone should have access to high quality live dance, regardless of their background, culture or economic standing. We recognise the transformative power access to dance and all the arts can have on an individual, groups and whole communities, and how vital it is to give people this access from an early age. Involvement with and access to the arts creates opportunities, enables children to envisage a future never before imagined, and inspires them to be the very best version of themselves.
The social, physical and mental health benefits of dance are well known and include boosting self-confidence and self-expression, improving fitness and stamina, creating a sense of wellbeing, enhancing creativity, enabling friendships and building social cohesion. As dance does not rely on the spoken word it transcends conventional language and can break down barriers within diverse communities. Music, dance and the highly visual aspect of our productions appeal to all children, including those with special needs, and gives everyone a physical language with which to communicate.
Our Impact Programme aims to reach all children, especially those who would otherwise not be exposed to live dance. Ballet is often seen as an elitist art form but we know how the physical and mental strength, hard work and resilience required from dancers can be highly motivational and inspiring for children and young people. We want to introduce them to this transformative world of ballet and the arts through our shows and also enable them to engage directly with our professional dancers by participating in our dance workshops.
Our highly trained, skilled and experienced professional dancers are perfectly placed to work with these children. As well as working professionals most are also dance teachers and understand how to guide and nurture young people. As a ballet company, we recognise our privileged position and take our responsibility to reach, entertain, educate and inspire the next generation extremely seriously. We aim, through the power of dance, to create a lasting positive impact for people and places.
